“When you started singing, and singing those songs just like I remembered them, something opened up. Something good from the past joined with the present and we went on the journey with you”.
(-Zoe Keithley, writer)
“I just enjoyed your show for the second time.
Even as a recording, it’s authentically touching.
And gets better and better as it goes along.
Excellent writing and nice quiet comic timing–
and then there’s your lovely voice.
I hope a million people hear this work.
I’m starting with my father who grew
up as an school boy, altar boy, choir boy et al at
St. Anne’s Parish, Cleveland Heights.” – Colleen F.
In solos and duets, Smith and
O’Reilly perform a winning
group of songs, and talk about
life in parochial schools during
their “formative” years.
His –as the eldest of 6, in the
working class Irish/Italian
neighborhoods of post-WW-II
New Jersey, in the ’40s, and ’50s.
Hers – as the 4th-girl-in-the-middle of a family of 14 kids, in a small Illinois town during the post-Vatican II,
Baby-Boom era of the ’60s.
