Busy life for me! For Irish music fans, I am singing 2 North Shore gigs, accompanied by Peter Swenson and All Ehrich. There’s the Acoustic Sound Series March 10, hosted by Nan Anderson, at the Merion Crystal Lounge in Evanston (the old North Shore Retirement Hotel). And a new folk series March 12 at St. Tim’s Coffeehouse (St Timothy’s Lutheran Church) in Skokie.Belinda Bremner joins us reading Yeats. It’s been years since I’ve done the shamrocks n’ sheilagh bit on the St. Pat’s Day Wishbone North Restaurant’s been our family go-to eatery for years. Couldn’t say “no” to bringing our special brand of Irish music there on March 17. Michael Smith joins us for that one. Sing-a-longs included. Easter Sunday, I will be a guest panelist for Lookingglass Theatre’s production of Lorca’s Blood Wedding, talking about the Spanish Civil War songs, and the music of the era.

I Know Where I’m Going, the remastered recording of my first solo album, accompanied by guitarist Peter Swenson, received a standing ovation at its live album release concert in Oak Park last fall. We will sing from this collection, along with St. Pat’s favorites this March. We recorded these 11 songs at WFMT Studio in 1984. Additional songs were recorded last summer, with Peter and special guest Michael Smith on guitar. Buy via the link here! |
