Chicago vocalist Jamie O’Reilly will sing St. Patrick’s Day Concerts on March 10, 12 and 17, 2016, in Evanston, Skokie, Chicago’s Lakeview, featuring songs from I Know Where I’m Going, her newly remastered solo album of Irish songs. With O’Reilly’s lilting soprano, Swenson’s lush guitar, and solid accompaniment of bassist Al Ehrich, these concerts will be reminiscent of days gone by: of songs in the parlor, and memorable family gatherings where everyone sang. All presented with sincere, old-world charm for which O’Reilly (a celebrated performer for over 4 decades), is known.
Thursday’s concert at the Merion Crystal Lounge in Evanston, will be an intimate gathering with the trio: Jamie and Peter and Al. Saturday’s concert is part of a new series at St. Tim’s Coffeehouse, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Skokie and will also features actress Belinda Bremner reading Yeats poetry.
St. Patrick’s evening, Thursday March 17 at 7 PM, Jamie, Peter and Al are joined by Michael (the Dutchman) Smith on guitar. They will present an old-style celebration at the popular Lakeview Landmark Wishbone Restaurant. Known for its Southern reconstructionist cuisine, and boasting an Irish chef, proprietors will feature St. Pat’s menu specials in a dinner theater/listening room atmosphere.
