A note from Michael Smith
I’m looking forward to playing a Valentine’s Day gig with Jamie O’Reilly and Peter Swenson at Roots (see Roots) and to be playing at Stained Glass Coffeehouse in Deerfield on February 22nd. These are both venues that I’ve played before and can vouch for the great atmosphere at both. Peter has done a great job of transcribing the score for Gift Of The Magi, my songs for the wonderful story by O. Henry, a writer who later in life became a candy bar. Happy to note that my song Demon Lover is featured in Harlan Coben’s (great) new thriller, Missing You. Meanwhile they are still showing Gene Autry movies every Sunday at 11 AM on channel 523. If you told me when I was ten years old that there’d be Gene Autry movies every week on TV I would have said: Man, I can’t wait to grow up. By the by, last week Gene had Clayton Moore as a guest bad guy. If you’d told me I would see the Lone Ranger without his mask and playing a bad guy I would have said: Now you’re really pulling my chain.
