IN OLD CHICAGO: Songs and Stories of a Beloved City
This Saturday night, Nov 6 at 7 PM!
A Note from Jamie
This is my great Aunt Nell (Eileen Dhu). What a beauty! Nine months ago I came up with an idea. She became my muse. This Saturday the Roots in Ireland Project presents In Old Chicago, a preview of my Dublin Salon. This is a celebration of heritage; a nostalgic and personal journey in song, with my brother Chris and friend Judi Heikes reading poetry and memoir. I’ll sing signature ballads, parlor songs, and soaring hymns. There will be singalongs. The musicality of pianist John Erickson, his ease at the keys and breathe of imagination have made this beautiful program possible. I am thrilled, John: https://www.johnericksonpiano.com/bio
Peace to you, Jamie
We’re not there yet, Folks! The “show” is ready, but we’re not nearly there yet fundraising-wise. Producing good work is expensive. I wear many hats! To send me and In Old Chicago to Ireland next June, I need your support. Consider making an end of the year holiday gift. Purchase CDs as gifts. Host an event!
To kick-off the holiday season, we’re offering a raffle at the Chief O’Neill’s concert. We’re featuring the handwork of WOMEN ARTISANS: Judi Heikes (embroidery), Judy Floeter (quilting), Trina O’Reilly (knitting, needlepoint, and cute cork-reindeer, with help from Chris), as well as holiday CDs of John Erickson and mine as part of the Raffle. Tickets are $5 each or 2-for $10 (with a free Roots fridge magnet. Purchase a raffle ticket or two, on;ineby 5 PM Saturday. or at the event. You need to be present to win! https://www.jamieoreilly.com/roots-in-ireland-raffles-handmade-gifts-music-and-more/
