A Note From Michael
One of the great things about this occupation is that now and again I get to spend a weekend in California, and this month I have a kind of quick and very active visit happening…I’m getting to see my pal Jimmy Duke and friends at Dark Thirty in Lakeside, where I’ve been so many times that it’s like a home away from home; I settle in immediately. A house concert in San Diego, which will be a new experience, and a concert series in Pasadena, where the old Ice House lives forever in fond memory. I’m proud and a little disbelieving of my memory to write that George Carlin came to see me work at the Ice House once years ago. The part I can’t believe is that me and George C went for a walk and he talked about how he loved a song of mine that Spanky And Our Gang did…and I just casually accepted the whole thing as if it was my due. Yeah I was so much older then…bless you, George, you’d be going crazy now. OK, bye.
