About the concert.
Vocalist Jamie O’Reilly brings her Roots in the Garden Series to the formidable backyard of the Rattenbury/Grove family in historic West Rogers Park. Old-style ballads, Irish and folk music, and Jamie’s signature songs, sung over her forty-year career as “A Voice for the Soul of the City,” will be performed. She is accompanied by pianist John Erickson.
Selections from In Old Chicago, Jamie’s celebrated program about Chicago’s rich history of people and neighborhoods will include stories of Jamie’s ancestors: feisty activists, writers, artists and newspaperman in turn-of-the 20th c Chicago.
Dan Tucker (pictured here), was uncle to the concert host Jeanne Rattenbury. He was the son of Jamie’s great aunt Nell O’Reilly Tucker.
